I’M TWENTY SIX.
I am closer to 30 than I am 20….. So crazy. Even though 25 was one of my favorite years filled with so many exciting things, I am so excited for whats to come in my 26th year. If it’s any indicator of whats to come, I can’t freaking wait.
Anywho, back to my birthday! 🙂
We (Steven and I) started the morning off with a spin class at the Madison (aka my happy place). I love when Steven comes to spin with me and he was totally into it because the Phoenix Suns happened to be there that morning too. After spin we ventured to AJ’s for the worlds best iced coffee and a quick
healthy breakfast. We went our separate ways for about 2 hours then met up again and headed to the J.W. Marriott at Desert Ridge for a weekend staycation with my parents. I love the Marriott. So much. We checked in, got settled and went to the spa to confirm our massages, then headed to the hotel bar for a DIET COKE (my weakness) and a quick snack. Next thing I knew it was time to get ready for dinner. We went to The Henry (one of my favorites) for dinner and it did not disappoint. I love love love the ambiance & vibe in the Henry and they have the best made to order guac & chocolate peanut butter molten cake. We headed back to the hotel and then Steven and I went straight to the hotel bar. We sipped on some rosé and moscow mules and reflected on the past year and had so many great conversations. When we got back to our room the hotel had a bottle of champagne and cake waiting for us. It was the perfect way to end my birthday!
On Saturday, Steven and my dad had an early tee time on the golf course so my mom and I enjoyed some breakfast before making our way to the spa. The Marriott is my favorite spa of all time! I had the most glorious massage. like ever. After our morning at the spa, we ventured to the pool! We ended up renting a cabana for the day and I was so impressed with it. It had a fan & mister system, a fridge, a comfortable outdoor couch and a tv (Steven was thrilled about this… because well… football). We also got our own reclining lounge chairs right by the pool in case we wanted to lay out in the sun. It was one of the nicest cabanas I have ever seen. My mom and I headed to the lazy river and it was amazing because there were only like 8 people there. My dad and Steven finally met up with us and we enjoyed lunch by the pool (while watching the Penn State & Pitt game of course…) then all enjoyed the lazy river. The staff at the pool were absolutely fabulous. The second my mom arrived to our cabana they had fresh fruit, macarons and trail mix waiting for us and throughout the entire afternoon they kept bringing us goodies and drinks for my birthday. They seriously spoiled us. By the time were decided to call it a day at the pool is was almost time for our dinner reservation. We ate dinner at another one of the hotel’s restaurant where I had one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. After dinner Steven and I ventured back down to the bar to listen to some live music and people watch. Does anyone else have an obsession with hotel bars? Not long after were both agreed that we were so exhausted from our busy day so we called it a night pretty early.
